All the superlatives about the form of this eccentric building have been said before, there’s really nothing to add.
The interior of the Pineapple was a bit of a surprise, just really because we didn’t know what to expect. The typically Georgian classical style, gives way to a cabin-like interior. The sort of thing you might find in the woods...just where the Pineapple is.
The weather was a mixed bag, quite hot and sunny at times but with spells of torrential rain. It was slightly disappointing though that there wasn’t a true thunderstorm, what a place to view it from! The Pinapple passed all tests on the weather front, although a fire was pleasant in the cooler evenings.
If you don’t want to go far the massive lawn at the front of the house is ideal for sports and games, or just picnicing. The park is open to the public though and it appears quite popular with dog walkers so if you want privacy the lawn at the rear might have more appeal.
Don’t be tempted to use the steps unless absolutely necessary, you might as well strap a couple of banana skins to your feet!
There’s big garages for fuel and essential items nearby, including one with a pretty good booze section.
