Booked a long time in advance, this property had been on the wish-list for ages - and it didn’t disappoint. The Hall is large but comfortable with four good bedrooms and a pretty good kitchen. Very good for dogs with a large tiled entrance hall, large undercroft and good-sized garden.
During our stay the central heating was working overtime and the hall was very warm, add to this the large open fire and a boiler room that doubled as an excellent drying room and I have to say this is a real hot-house. No need to bring extra woolies here despite the lofty spaces.
Pembroke town provides all that is required in terms of rations within an easy 5 minute walk. The pubs, however, were less than inspiring, although the Kings Arms wasn’t bad. The Victoria, virtually next door, was a friendly local.
We ate out lots, mainly lunch, and the best meal by far was at the Stackpole Inn which had a good if slightly pricey menu.
Many of the areas attractions had closed by our visit but there were still a few things open. There are castles and bishops palaces all-over the place, in various states of decay and we particularly enjoyed our near-neighbour Pembroke Castle. If you just want to get out and enjoy the scenery there are countless, beautiful, sandy beaches and rocky coves to explore.
