The Grammar School

No. in Party   4+dog

This property was actually our third ever Landmark but due to a total loss of all photos has had to wait until now for the entry to be completed.

I’d undertaken a reconnaissance of the house some time before we made our visit, ticking off the required boxes; pub within staggering distance, plenty to do nearby, no nasty surprises or trick photography in the handbook.  The Grammar School scored well on all counts.

The living room is quite snug for four and there’s not a great deal of space for eating around the table but the bedrooms are a good size and the kitchen and bathroom are okay.  There’s a large old school room between the living quarters proper and the outside which is a bit of a waste of space but a good area to discard wet clothes and towel down wet dogs, something that could prove very useful at times.

There is virtually no soundproofing between the upper and lower bedrooms and visual contact can be maintained through the large gaps twixt floorboards; these gaps being useful bomb bays for strategically aimed tiny paper bombs, targeted on the open mouths of any loudly snoring  occupant below.

Music night at the pub was interesting, as various instruments were passed amongst those present with much encouragement to join in, banging the old tambourine or whatever, vaguely in time to the Yamaha Midi Organ.
